Can I use the microphone that I have for my PC with the ipod touch 3g? It has a standard 3.5mm plug and this unit works with lots of things I have such as my voice recorder etc...

Will it work with my ipod touch 3g?

    Thanks

Trying wouldn't hurt. I'm assuming that this is a unified Headphone and Microphone though...

Hi... No it's just a microphone, not a headset combo. It's not here with me right now so I'll have to wait a day or two to try it.

    Thanks

if its only a mic, it won't function as a mic. a microphone is essentially a small headphone. if you plug it in and played music, the ipod would be playing the music through the mic. but you probably wont hear it becuase it is designed to be a mic, not a speaker.

Thanks... So assuming it wouldn't work, would a headset that has a mic attached to it for PC chat work? I don't really care for "earbud" type headphones and would preferr something more conventional like "walkman" type headphones but then, would I also be able to use that as a mic?

I know my friend once had a single mic and an iPod Touch 2G, he just plugged it in and was able to record his voice. I tried with one though and it didn't work.
