I have a PC set up with a 1 TB HDD (it runs 24/7) that is connected through ethernet to all our other PCs / Macs in the house. I then open up Plex and can watch TV shows that I have (eg. The Office, House, Family Guy, That 70s Show, Seinfeld), whenever I want.

    Anyone else have something similar?

I do actually. Mine is a custom built HTPC/Server. It is constantly on, obviously, with 2 1 TB drives, dual dvd drives, HD Tv tuner, 2 GB RAM, some single core AMD chip, and its all booted with Windows XP Media Center edition.
