OK, we know the speaker in an iPod is very basic, but it does have a bit more capability than the basic key click. Test the Alarm sounds out to hear for yourself.

It would be nice to use this speaker for:

Game sounds in the NES&GBA emulators/iPhysics/etc
Keyboard sounds in most apps, particularly the calculators

    Any other suggestions?

I dont see why you want to have sound on your calculator?
    Maybe on the others...
But its not going to do much of anything.

Dude, SO WHAT? I'm so sick of people replying to ideas with "you don't need that"

You're a mod too.. wtf lol

You don't see why he/she would want that? Ok great for you. I certainly wouldn't mind the touch expanding it's capabilities, something like this could also lead to better things... although I guess most people make a snap judgement from their limited vantage point.

So you get some feedback from hitting the keys. There's a reason that the normal keyboard makes a noise.

I was wondering if it was capable of chip tunes and the sorts. That would be awesome if someone ported a tracker.

to turn off the keyboard clicks, just set the sound effects to go straight to headphones. As far as alternate possibilities, the only thing I can really think of is using it to make your iPod sound like a 10 year old Cell Phone.
