    Hi There

My computer (XP) has all usb 1.1 ports. My husband's computer (vista) has USB2 ports. I cannot update firmware on my Ipod touch without getting the boot screen of death (or whatever it is called, it is usually a nightmare to restore afterward). I can sync and do everything fine through the usb 1.1 ports, just not firmware updates.

So if I need my firmware updated I get him to do it on his machine, and then I am left with a blank ipod touch. This gets annoying as I need to reset all the settings for mail/calender/contacts each time I need to do a firmware update. I don't mind about resyncing the apps, podcasts etc.

Has anyone with this problem installed a usb2 card in their computer, and plugged the ipod touch into that? Did if fix the problem?

I'm just dreading the 2.3 update LOL!!
