I use both WinSCP and Iphone Tunnel Suite to xfer large media files via direct USB cable. On 1 Dell Host PC, WinSCP shows an average speed of 1700kb/s and on another, it shows only 600-700kB/s or so and definitely behaves almost 3 times slower. (still faster than 200-300K wifi speed)

So what's the deal here? both PC's are DELL's, the faster one is a Dell Lattitude D830 3GHz Dual Core with 2G-RAM and the slow one is a Dell Optiplex 2.8GHz Single Core 1G-RAM. I know the PC specs are different somewhat but why should this be effecting USB xfer so much. For that matter, it seems like even at the fast speed WinSCP acts like its using USB1.1 speeds vs. USB2.0.

Is there any other file xfer protocol via SSH that can be used to get speeds faster than 1.7M??

    Thanks,

    synchron

I believe the word you're looking for is "transfer"...
