    hi there...

since the fstab can be edited...

how about adding an additional (fat32) partition?
this thing could act as a "usb drive".

    would this be possible?

1 gig = usb drive usage
    7 or 15 gig = ipod usage

I think it's possible if someone either wrote a slick virtual Windows driver that was just a glorified SCP/FTP, or if somebody wrote a USB program to switch the device to USB mode (like the PSP does).

If you've jailbroken your iPod Touch then you're already running an SFTP server. That's how I got all the iPhone apps onto my Touch. I would really love to see an implementation of the AppleMobileDevices.dll calls into a wrapper though. iPHUC has done it, iTunes does it, so surely some third party developer out there has the knowhow to make it happen.

This is the only remaining gripe I have with this device

    idea?

I use Core FTP LE to "get into" my ipod touch....

that would be cool to use it as a USB drive, but can i just create a folder on my ipod and put files into it using the FTP software?
