I read that using old usb 1.1 instead of 2.0 destroys your ipod touch. Is this true? I don't have 2.0 ...

    Thx

I don't think so, but there's only one way to find out. If you dare.

    It will be fine.

Is that how you answer all your questions? "I don't know but..."

Because it's not compatible with it and as Apple stated, it requires 2.0.

There's no way that it will ruin your iPod touch. The only difference between the two USB types (1.1 & 2.0) is that USB 2.0 has increased speeds of data transfer. USB 1.1 came out in 1998, and USB 2.0 came out in 2001 or so. It's like upgrading from dial-up internet to hi-speed internet.

I don't understand your theory here because, for about 4 months, I was using my iPod touch on USB 1.1, and it charged perfectly fine. Just recently, with this laptop, have I begun to use USB 2.0, and I only notice faster syncing speeds.

Apple doesn't "suck", if you're running iTunes on Windows OS, that's why. iTunes is designed for Mac OS. iTunes is perfectly fine.
