My god, seriously? There's a thread titled "SSH" stickied at the top of this forum, did you not even think of looking there?

you need sbsetting or bossprefs, etc.. and in sbsettings (or what you use) there will be a switch that says ssh- turn that to on

Don't worry. Hanging around ipodtouchfans a bit longer will get you nice and desensitized.

Open SSH allows you to SSH (make a secure shell connection) between your computer and your iPod. This lets you change and move around files and folders, which is not recommended. BUT if you know where to put your theme, it is perfectly fine and the worst thing that'll happen is that it won't show up in Winterboard.
By default, SSH is turned on when you install it. But you can turn it off to save battery using SBSettings or Bossprefs. There are numerous guides across the forum and on youtube on how to connect to your iPod through SSH.
