To make a long story short, I need to SSH into an iPod touch that has OpenSSH installed, but it is not on my network.

Is there any way that I can SSH to an iPod through the Internet rather than my local Wi-Fi?

unless you know the local IP address of the ipod touch on the other wireless network, the public IP address of the routeur and that the SSH port 22 is open on their network, you're pretty much out of luck.

edit: actually you don't need to know the local IP address of the ipod touch but the routeur has to forward the ssh port to the ipod

Local IP addresses wont matter unless your on the same network as them, correct?
Now I thought if I used the public IP address given to them by their ISP that I could get a connection but this was not the case.

I dont really understand what your telling me about the other person's router, either; so if you could rephrase that, that'd be great.
