Well, I'm currently trying to jailbreak my ipod and am encountering a major problem.

I have tried QuickFreedom and Redtool. I get the same error - everything goes great up until I have to use iTunes. I do "shift" and restore, get to my custom firmware file and then - it gives me this message:

    What do I do????

Do you have LibUSB and Microsoft C++ redistributable installed?

Also, did you patch the device before restoring to the custom firmware.

First, try a different USB Port.
If that doesn't work, then try a reinstall of iTunes.
If THAT doesn't work, then find a different computer to try it on.

    Easy Solution

This happens to me everytime I try to jailbreak. It happened to me during the tethered and the untethered jailbreak attemps. Just press OK or Close(whichever is there). If your iPod disappears from iTunes, unplug it and plug it back in.Then just press shift+restore(samething as before),find the custom firmware which you want to jaibreak with, and it should work now. Hope this was helpful to you.
