urgent help :making new pc

    wanted to make a new pc (newbie)capable of playing new pc games and gathered the following components. wanted to know if all pieces will be able to work together or if i could improve it. price willing to pay £370-£400:

    elite 330 case

    AMD athlon II x2 250


    Gigabyte GA-M720-US3 motherboard


    ATI radeon HD 4650 or nvidia 9400gt graphics card


    corsair 550w psu
    unsure if to much or corsair 450w

    hp dvdrw drive


    kingston 2gb ddr2 ram


    Seagate OEM 500GB Barracuda hdd

    really need feedback or comments cause want to start purchasing.. thanks alot

    Get more RAM. 2 GB isn't going to cut it for today's games.

    apart from that does everything else seem compatible

    Board won't work. For the amount of money you are willing to spend you could get a pretty nice machine.

    No, in short, your not looking at things that are important.
    There just so happens to be a very long guide on how to pick out the parts for a pc in my sig, its an article i posted here a long time ago. You have to pay attention to all the details as to both the size and speed of the ports that the parts connect to the MB. Ill try and look some stuff up for you and post it back here.

    so ive looked around, and read around, and found myself right back at the start.

    in novis terms.. could someone put together components for a budget gaming pc for me please.. it would be very appreciated

    Sorry i was gonna do that for you, but i ran into a problem with something in my house and had to cut power for a while. Also searching in terms of foreign currency for me is a pain. Would it be cool if i looked up parts on newegg in USD$ and then you could find the same parts on amazon in the UK?
