When you save an image from Safari, Mail, or anyother web based Application, you only get a Very POOR QUALITY / Low Resolution version when you open it in "Photos"

I just spoke with an "Apple Product Specialist" Supervisor for Apple Inc. (not an easy number to find, but a GREAT resourse - [ 1-(408)-996-1010 then ask for a Product Specialist for iPod Touch 2G] - DO NOT bother with AppleCare, they are clueless to glitches.

She told me that she had not heard of this issue yet, and I told her that it seems to be a common problem, then she said that she would research it online to see if it were in fact a common issue. I then gave her the url to a thread on this site involving this and she pulled it right up, quoting the title to me! She then said she would send an expedited email to the iPod/iPhone software engineers to check it out and hopefully.....FIX IT!!!

I encourage all of you to PLEASE call:
    Apple Inc. Customer Service(not AppleCare)
    1-(408)-996-1010

ask for a Product Specialist for iPod Touch 2Gand explain to them that you have this same issue (that when you save images from safari or mail, you only get a low-res copy in "Photos")

The more they hear, the more urgent the response!!

    THANKS!!!

Fulfill your Apple Owner's (and happy user's) patriotic duty and CALL APPLE NOW!

why do you think it would save these images in high resolution do you have a special itouch with a 1080p display or something

it obviuosly saves these images so it can display them on the itouch in low resolution / low quality

    this isnt a glitch

*i found this out after my computer crashed and i had saved all my photos to my ipod and after i transfered them back they were in crappy low resolution

iTunes "Optimizes" your photos for your iPod.
