I have a 2G 8GB iPod Touch. I am currently running firmware 2.2.1 and my iPod is JailBroken.

How would I upgrade to 3.1.2, And is there a chance this could
    brick my iPod?

sorry, you are not allowed to discuss firmware download links. Why don't you buy it for 10 dollars?

I don't think upgrading could brick your iPod. Unless like you pull it out when it's updating or something like that. And if you want to get the firmware free legitimately, then go to your friend's house who has the 3.1.2 update and just ask him to update it for you, once they have the 3.1.2 update it wont tell you to buy the update. Works all the time.

if you update it from a jailbroken firmware, it leaves behind files from the jailbreak, and it will make your ipod crap slow. best bet is to dfu restore and jailbreak 3.1.2 using redsn0w 0.9 not blackra1n
