So last night I updated to 4.0, knowing I would loose my Jailbreak.
Problem is, I was jailbroken on 3.1.3 with Spirit (on IPT3g 32Gig)
Iv read somewhere that there can be problems updating.
What I did though was put my iPod into recovery mode, did a shift+click restore with the firmware files and recovered to 4.0.
Its working fine at the moment but iv read (such as Musclenerd's twitter) that those who jailbreaked with Spirit should stay away from 4.0 for now.
Is there any problems? Im just a bit worried

Sorry if I seem like a noob. Just a lol paranoid haha

nah man there are no actual problems. you did just the right thing - RESTORE!! i cannot stress enough that if you are jailbroken ESPECIALLY WITH SPIRIT then you must RESTORE NOT UPDATE! unless you wanna take a chance of getting your iPod bricked. Apple even issued a warning. NEVER EVER EVER PRESS THE "UPDATE" BUTTON IN ITUNES! And as for staying away from 4.0 if you're with spirit, then that's just because most of the people who used spirit have a newer model starting with "MC" which is currently not jailbroken on 4 yet. So yea you are safe.

At first I tried the update button to get 4.0, while having 3.1.3 Spirit jailbroken. I was getting tons of errors, so I did a DFU restore, which worked perfectly.

I was on 3.1.3 jailbroken with spirit. I used update and I am on 4.0 and it is running smoothly. Does my ipod have a chance of getting bricked?

I did an update on my iPod from 3.1.3 jailbroken with spirit, to the 4.0 GM... Not a restore.

Everything is working fine for me though...

Should I be worried? Should I take my iPod in it's current state and do a restore? or what?

And I don't see how the iPod can get bricked from that... There's always DFU mode. Isn't that always going to work unless you've got hardware damage?

As many have stated on this forum, you can NEVER brick your iPod. It'll always be safe.
