Hello. I have a 2G MB model iPod with firmware 2.2.1 and I wanted to update it to 3.1.3 because I've heard iOS 4 doesn't run smoothly on it, but I cant update it via iTunes anymore because Apple isn't signing this version anymore.
So, is there any way to do it? If not, is it true that it is slow?

You can upgrade just fine. Apple isn't signing for the MC models. I think 4.0 runs very smooth though.

Just tried it, when I click restore it says the iPod software update server could not be contacted. Im sure my internet connection is fine. I guess I will try again later.
