    Hi everyone.

as some of you may already know, whenever you upgrade your ipod touch firmware, the upgrade process also restores your ipod so that your music is erased. Is there a way to upgrade the firmware for ipod touch without having to
carry out a restore every time?

also, could I not just open the IPSW in 7zip and just remove the restore.plist file?

If you choose UPDATE in the iTunes window it does not restore your iPod - only if you choose the RESTORE button does it do that.

Exactly. But if you try to update to a custom pwned IPSW, iTunes will complain. If you made a custom IPSW you HAVE to restore, otherwise update to an original one and QuickPwn.
