Is there a way to update my baseband to 05.11.07 without restoring? I'm on 3.1 and I dont want to upgrade to 3.1.2 and have to redo all my jailbreak stuff. The reason I want to upgrade is so my iPhone will actually know what network its on, and so I can use geohots unlock. I used pwnagetool to jailbreak to 3.1 and obviously im still on the older baseband.
    Help??

You'll lose your jailbreak data, but shift-Update to an unmodified IPSW of 3.1.2.

There's no way to do it without losing data.

Crap. Well I cant do it at home. I get internet by tethering through my iPhone. iTunes needs internet to restore a 3gs unfortunately... and obviously I cant tether and restore at the same time. stupid "verifying with apple" crap =/

Use http://thefirmwareumbrella.blogspot.com/ to save the 3.12 shsh locally on your machine, then use TinyTSS to feed the saved shsh to iTunes.
