Hi Everyone, I have an ipod touch 2g, which I jailbroke a while ago, I remember using redsnow to do it, I've got alot of stuff installed on it now but theres alot of apps that need 3.1 or above now so I need to upgrade it.

Trouble is I'm scared to death of upgrading it because theres loads of stuff on it, MXvideo (with videos) and youtube app (that saves vids).
Not really bothered about my music as it's all in itunes.

Could anyone point me to the correct way to upgrade withing doing a full restore and deleting everything.

    Links would be great too.

I've seen a few pages and videos but not sure if they are right or not.

    Thanks

Copy the things you want to save to your computer.

things like MXtube videos, and youtube video saver (downloaded via cydia) doesn't show up in itunes.

I'm only able to backup my, music, vidoes in apple video folder, contacts etc

Not through iTunes. You have to access the filesystem on your iPod and copy them from the app folders.

Use iFile, iPhone Folders, or SSH to access the filesystem.
