Who is going to upgrade to ipod touch 3rd gen? and When?
depends on how much different it is from the 2nd gen
Yes, it all depends on how much it costs and what the differences are.
I'll probably only get it if it has a GPS or camera.
And we all know the GPS is pretty much not going to happen.
I might actually wait a while for some things to be sorted out...
Some people complained that the Home button was messed up and some other things about Wi-Fi when the very first models of the 2G were released.
I don't thing I am, probably not.
Since I just got mine back in May, I'm definitely not going to get a 3rd Gen Touch. I don't like to get the latest model of something, especially if I have the immediate previous version, and I know they update it annually. I had the 2nd Gen Nano, and waited until the 4th Gen came out last year to get another one. But that was mainly for more space on it, and the ability to play videos if I wanted to.
And I'm also very, very tempted to get my wife and I a pair of new iPhones since our contract with Sprint is up in just over a month. But since they put out a new, or upgraded iPhone every year, and there have been rumors about the deal expiring b/t Apple and AT&T next year, it is also very tempting to switch to Verizon on a 1-year contract. If I did that, I'd just get a basic phone, and hope that the 4th Gen iPhone would come out next summer and be available on Verizon. So that is another reason I definitely won't be getting any new Touch. Would seem pointless to have a Touch, a pair of iPhones, and a new touch.
I'm gonna upgrade asap. My first gen is getting old, and needs an upgrade.
My first generation iPod touch is getting a little old, as in the battery life is getting shorter and shorter each day. I skipped the second generation iPod touch, although I was planning on getting one. I think when the third generation iPod touch is released/available for pre-order, I will purchase one. I will most likely purchase the one with the most storage.
That and I don't feel like going through the process of backing up my current iPod touch, restoring to version 3.0, jailbreaking (I'm not even sure one is out yet), then restoring the backup. Not to mention, most of the apps don't function properly yet.
Cliffs: Yes, right away.
exactly, and i bet apps will be made to work smoothly on the 2G and 3G.
If there is big changes I will upgrade, but only if it is jailbreakable.
There always jailbreakable. There is no possible way that Apple can fill every hole. It may just take a longer time to find the hole. And ill for sue upgrade its supposed to be really worth it.
