    Is there a way to upgrade from my current jailbroken firmware 2.0.2 to jailbroken 2.1 WITHOUT losing all the files; music, bookmarks, themes added etc?

    You can upgrade without losing your music and bookmarks, but you will lose your themes and apps downloaded from cydia.

    what about the apps installed from other installers? will all apps such as gpsphone and game saves be deleted as well?

    The last time I upgraded from a jailbroken fw to this fw, I lost all my music etc and I had to put them back on through iTunes

    The only reason I want to upgrade is because this fw is pissing me off with the freezing and drag and bugs etc

    copy all files from "/ <root>" onto CPU, update, copy all files back into "/ <root>". That's probably the only way

    P.S. when I upgraded from 2.0.2 --> 2.2, I didn't lose my bookmarks

    isn't that a bit pointless and overly dramatic? if you overwrite all of the files on your device what is the point of updating? why not just copy over all of the files from /private?
