Upgrade to 4.0, not 4.0.2?

    Can a 2G iPhone upgrade to iOS 4 without upgrading to iOS 4.0.2? Still want to jailbreak it.

    yeah i think so try going to ifans.com/no and download the firmware you want then on itunes hit options restore and choose the firmware you jsut downloaded

    Be nice!! He is new here. Apple dropped the original iPhone and iPT, so you can't even update to 4.0.

    whyd he cahnge the link? and i though the 2g could still go to 4.0? only the 1g couldnt

    2G iPhone means the original iphone that used EDGE (2G), and the second one was called the "3G"

    Um....he has an iPhone 2g.
    He can still upgrade.
    Just look for the ipsw file in google.
    I'm sure you'll find it.
