Hey guys. Since im a developer i have access to the 4.0 beta.. i would really like to try it out but would i lock myself out of 3.1.2? I have my SHSH keys for 3.1, 3.1.2 and 3.1.3 so thats not any problem.

The only thing im worried about is that i once helped my uncle with his iPhone 3G and he was unable to downgrade because of a newer baseband. So if i upgrade to 4.0... would i then by any chance lose 3.1.2 compatability?

Perhaps... the baseband would be an issue would it not? Only for unlock..

Hmm seems like the 4.0 ipsw has baseband version 05.13.03 hmm. Ill try my luck. Im at my best chances because of my iPhone beeing one with the old bootrom and SHSH's for 3.1 3.1.2 and 3.1.3.

im interested in your findings, i upgraded to 4.0 and now i cannot downgrade back to 3.1.3. which is kind of annoying as its a little buggy.

I don't think we ever get into the 5.12 baseband either..

    You can't downgrade, I tried.
I was jailbroken 15 minutes ago, and I don't regret upgrading at all =)
    Go 4.0!

Well you should just get the 1015 error with downgrading. Which however should be counterable by just performing a jailbreak after.

So... All I have to do to downgrade is install 3.1.2 and when error 1015 pops up I close iTunes and jailbreakā€¦ and this will fix the errorā€¦ I will try this after work.
