I have a jailbroken iPhone 3GS MC model running 3.1.3.

I want to upgrade to IOS4 and jailbreak.

I never downloaded 4.0 or 4.0.1, but according to Cydia, I have a saved 4.0 and 4.01 blob.

I've read numerous tutorials which basically say to backup, restore to 4.0.x, then go to jailbreakme.com, but I don't have the firmware/ipsw file.

Can anyone tell me how to get the blob from Cydia, or point me to a guide to do it? I've searched, googled and checked out Cydia to no avail. Thank you.

I apologize if this post is in any way inappropriate.

use some of the guides on this forum to do a restore to 4.0, its good that cydia has your shsh, i can't link u to an IPSW for 4.0 as its not allowed on the forum but google is your friend to find it

edit: Cydia always backups the current SHSH from Apple even if your never been on the firmware, I had my 3.1.3 shsh backup on cydia when i jailbroke with 3.1.2 but unlucky for me i jailbroke on 3.1.2 (the reason possible i never updated with 3.1.3 came out straight away) after Apple's signing closed so i don't have my 3.1.2 shsh but i've got 3.1.3 and 4.0

edit2: i'm expecting cydia to backup my 4.0.2 shsh soon even thoe i will never be on that firmware

^You better remove that before you get in trouble. Linking to IPSWs is not allowed on the forums.

Thanks for your help. I did a shift restore to the appropriate ipsw file and all seemed well until I noticed that my iTunes account and my iPhone (under settings>general>about) still thinks I'm running 3.1.3.

I have multitasking, folders, wallpapers, etc. so I'm surprised. Should I be worried?
