My 11 yr old daughter just bought a used Ipod touch 1G. She is not able to load most apps on it. I understand it can be upgraded from the internet. I downloaded the latest version of Itunes for her, but I am lost doing anything beyond that!!
HOW CAN I TELL WHAT SOFTWARE IS CURRENTLY ON IT?
WHAT IS THE BEST VERSION TO GET FOR THIS GENERATION?
    HOW DO I GET IT?
ARE THERE ANY WEBSITES THAT ARE EASY TO USE TO DO THIS?

I have spent hours looking into it and keep running into a dead end road. Hope someone can help me (I will look like a hero to my daughter!! lol)

    Thanks

Just plug the iPod to your computer and open iTunes. Click on your iPod in the menu bar (in iTunes) and click on Update.

iOS 3.1.3 is the last version supported by the first generation iPod Touch.

What the guy above said means that the 1g is outdated...

And so it can't do TOO much things...

Thanks for your help. I know it is an outdated one, but my daughter is young and it is something she is proud to have bought with her own money. I will get her something better for her birthday!! Thanks again
