Hi guys, before you try to annihilate me, I have searched and have found nothing, lol.

Can someone please direct me to a tutorial on upgrading to 2.2 without affecting the 2.1 baseband on the iPhone 3G.

I have found a couple tutorials but it's for Macs only, I need it for WINDOWS.

    Thanks guys.

Obviously, it is essential it does not upgrade the baseband because then I have no chance of software unlocking my phone. So please make sure the tutorial works

    thanks a lot, appreciate it.

the only way in windows is if some kind person uploads a custom ipsw, but that sounds dodgy, there will probably be an unlock for the new baseband eventually if not just keep it on 2.1 till someone realises that there are many more windows users than mac users and releases some software to do this

Yeah, that's what I was planning on doing, just sticking with 2.1.

Do you know if the software unlock will be available through Cydia?

1st Question: No there is no Windows method.

2nd Question: From what we have been told the software unlock will be a Cydia release.

    Use XPwn.
    Your syntax would be:
    Code:
    ./ipsw iPhone1,2_2.2_5G77_Restore.ipsw iPhone1,2_2.2_5G77_Custom_Restore.ipsw [-b bundles\logo.png] [-r bundles\recovery.png] [-e "Phone Activiation"] bundles\Cydia.tar
Arguements in [] brackets are optional.
