I recently followed a downgrading guide from 4.0 to 3.1.3, it worked great, but I didnt notice until after that I downgraded to 3.1, and Id rather have 3.1.3 for app compatibility, and I also cant find a dependable jailbreak for 3.1 as there are so many for 3.1.3.

How can I upgrade to 3.1.3? I have the firmware file for it, but it wont let me restore nor update to it through iTunes. Should I update to 4.02 then just redowngrade to 3.1.3? Such a simple mistake, seems like its gonna be a lot of work just to get to 3.1.3

If you're really on a 3G, the standard shift-click restore should work. If not, try a DFU restore.

Doing a DFU Restore will force you to upgrade to 4.0. You MUST shift+click restore to 3.1.3

No, I mean go into DFU, and then shift click while in DFU.
