My computer usually has problems connecting to my iPod (LOTS of iTunes errors), but after updating to 9.2 these seem to be gone. However, when updating to OS 4, the iPod flashes a white screen and boots into recovery mode. It can't recover, update, and I've tried DFU. Is there any way to diagnose the problem, or hopefully correct it?

I'm using an Asus motherboard, and there seem to be common problems with connecting to iPods using the USB drivers...

It IS a driver issue, so I ripped an old USB expansion card out of a PC and connected my iPod to that - and VIOLA!

SO HERE'S THE FIX: Use an expansion card, and it'll work! Apple still needs to address the driver compatibility errors, but this is a workaround.
