I have a 2.2.1 ipod touch and i'm wondering if i can directly update to the 3.1.2 firmware without the 3.0 firmware.
I was feeling cheap when the 3.0 firmware came out and the rebel inside decided not to buy it but now a lot of my apps need the 3.0 firmware so it's necessary for me to update.
If i update to the 3.1.2 firmware will i automatically download 3.0 and 3.1? and also, My ipod touch is jailbroken and i'm wondering if i should restore it before updating or does it do that automatically when i update?

I don't mean to sound like a complete noob... but yeah i'm a noob.

You will still need to pay for 3.1.2 but you will only download this version.

Rather than being a true upgrade, each firmware version is a full package which is why they are all so big (think of it as downloading your entire OS just to fix a security patch!).

When you upgrade, you will no longer be jailbroken....
