If I have a JB 2g Ipod Touch firmware 2.2.1, and I want to just update to 3.0 and not jailbreak. What would be the best way to go about it?

Should I uninstall all of the JB apps, and delete everything I won't be able to use? Or will the update do all of that itself? Let me know.

    Thanks

just restore with 3.0 after you update, no need to remove all jailbroken apps
this way, all your jailbroken settings (such as MakeItMine, etc...) will go away.

or if you can get the 3.0 firmware as a file, you can just restore up to 3.0 and save a step

it will delete everything on your ipod. if you want to jailbreak the 3.0 it is possible but almost all of the features on cydia havent been updated yet.

I am having a difficult time understanding why a JB iPod would need to be updated to 3.0. What is it about 3.0 that people want?

If you want to update from a jailbroken 2.2.1 to 3.0, can't you just press the update button in iTunes, no restore necessary? it won't delete any of your songs or app info, and your iPod won't be jailbroken anymore.
