I have a 2g ipt, don't know if it's non-mc or whatever, not sure how to tell...but it's jailbroken with the 3.0 firmware. I would like to update to 3.1.2 or 3.1.3, doesn't really matter to me, I just want it to work.

I haven't kept up with everything since the 3.0 update a while back so I'm kind of confused with all that I'm reading now about the basebands, non-mc, etc.... I just want to be able to use some of the apps that require 3.1.x.

Is there a guide that I missed on here or can someone give me some advice on what to do or where to start?

since you got a 2g you can just press update and then jailbreak with redsn0w 0.9.4

What about the older 2g's vs the newer 2g's? non-mc or whatever...that's what I'm concerned about with 3.1.2 & .3 software versions.

    Does it matter anymore?

and thank you, I appreciate the response.
