is it okay to update apps that are in folders using categories?
i think not.. coz it creates another app when it updates.. so i guess, my only solution to this is to move it back on the screen to update then move it back again to the category folder.. >,< its the only thing i can think of as of now.. any suggestions?
thats what i figured, and thats what ive been doing to update
Are you referring to updating on the iPod itself, or updating in iTunes and syncing?
I'm not sure about the former, but the latter works perfectly well.
i update my apps that are in folders all the time. it appears outside the folder until you respring but whats a five second respring anyways.
It replaces the same folder in the filesystem, so I can't imagine it harming anything. Like MalignantMartyr stated, it might just cause it to temporarily appear outside the folder until a respring.
You know it never crossed my mind to respring, Ive been updating and then deleting the original app from the folder and then adding it back. So much easier to just respring. Thank you.
If you have the app in the folder when you update it appears on the home screen
