I just updated, and now a couple albums of mine are split in half. In particular, two Bright Eyes albums.

How do I get them to go back to being one album each? It's a pain that 4 songs are in one part, then the rest in the other. Or, the first and last songs are in one, and the rest of the album in the other.

How can I fix it? I tried editing info on them; they match perfectly, yet are still split.

Try selecting all of them, and then changing the info.

That usually solves it for me as I have had that problem before.

I tried that, but it still didn't combine them.

I've had this problem several times, even before the 8.0 update. It seems that sometimes if the year is different on different tracks then they get split or sorted in the wrong order. Sometimes, selecting them all and changing the info doesn't work. Look at each of the differing tracks and see what info is different that should be the same and then change it. Normally, working my way through the tracks individually eventually sorts it out.

I'm having the same problem and no matter what I do I can't seem to get some tracks back to 1 album. All info matches up but albums are still split. I can't seem to fix them. It really is a pain in the ass.

select all tracks from that album, and edit the album name to blank.

then select them all again and apply correct album name

Try selecting them all and clearing Album Artist. That usually fixes all of mine.

1 - Right click on the selection and choose Get Info.
2 - Select the Info tab
3 - Tick the checkbox next to Artist/Album, etc - whatever it is you want to clear.
    4 - Click OK.

this will set the relevant attribute to empty for all tracks in the selection.

    have you tried this.

This happens to me regularly. especially after download artwork via the itunes store. Highlight the album, go to 'get info'. there is a heading called sorting. put the album and artist info in there and it should regroup the album.
