So, I have a weird dilemma. I've downloaded the Opera internet browser app and the new update to the Facebook app, both of which are free and available to download on iTunes.

Yet, when I sync them to my iDevices, both of them sync with older versions of the applications, for example, my Facebook app is version 3.1.2 whereas on iTunes, it says 3.2.

The same goes for my Opera app, which is 1.0.2 on my iPod, yet 5.0 something on my iTunes. Does. Not. Compute.

Could it be the effects of a jailbroken device? Do the folks at Facebook and Opera consciously sabotage their apps on hacked iPods/iPhones/iPads?

Or is it another problem (with a solution) altogether?

Thanks for the replies in advance!

Why not update them from the app store app from your device???
I highly doubt that it deals with being jailbroken.

Hrm, quite peculiar. It seems that, while the settings claim that I have 3.1.2 for the Facebook app, I have the "Places" feature of the new update.

I tried updating to version 5.0 of Opera via the device's App Store, but it kept syncing with the iTunes' version 1.0.2. :/ Bah hambug, I'll just make do with it. >_<
