Update: 4.1 Lock-Screen Bug Being Fixed in iOS 4.2

    This could mean iOS 4.2 is due soon (I.e. Early part of November), since I don't think they'd let this hole remain unpatched for long.

    Makes sense.

    As for people not updating - the fix will prob be ported to 4.1 and lower by jailbreakers I assume.

    im on 4.0.2 and dont use the Key-lock screen.

    This affects people who do use it, but if you don't have one, the why would someone abuse the exploit when they could just access your files anyway.

    You still have the bug too even if you don't have a "Key-lock". It's on 4.0. I woudn't be surprised if it was on 3.1.x too.

    Hmm, anyone thought this could be a nice bug for at least a userland exploit for 4.1? Well since we already have a jailbreak, let's just let it burn.

    I'm not at all sure how any dev would make a userland exploit out of a software bug that does nothing more than make it so that a user can get into a password locked iPhone.
