Untethered jailbreak

    Okay some questions, this sounds crazy although im new here and a slight noob to ipod touch, there is no need to bang your head on the wall, just reply clearly LOL

    okay i have been seeing the term untethered jailbreak , now i understand tethered jailbreaks are with in certain limits but what i want to do is there and untethered jailbreak for the ipod touch 3g? and is there a jailbreak in which you Do NOT have to connect to a pc to start your ipod?

    There is no untethered jailbreak for the iPod touch 3g yet.

    ok thanks, but do you always have to connect to a pc to boot your ipod ?? i have heard tethered jailbreaks can't have certain custom items like logos, but i have seen this edit on youtube, if there is no untethered yet im sure that info was wrong, correct me, was i the one wrong?

    A tethered jailbreak is one in which you will need to rejailbreak each time you reboot.
    An untethered jailbreak will say jailbroken infinitely, regardless of rebooting.
    Just making sure your completely clear on that.

    ^Like he said. iPod Touch 3Gs only have tethered jailbreaks... As of now.

    Edit: Nobodys corrected me on the tethered/untethered thing when I said it in other places, so I assumed I was correct. This information was gathered based off of assumptions from various unclear posts, so correct me if wrong.

    oh okay, did not know.. tht means with a tethered jb i have to put in sleep mode and hope i
    don't have to reboot.

    When in sleep mode, you do not have to re-jailbreak, as the iPod was not turned off.

    It is stupid if you shutdown the iPod when you are tethered. Just make sure it is always charged and in sleep mode.

    Yes but sometimes the user cannot help it, such as installing something in one of the package managers and it needing to reboot the device, such as Winterboard.
