This is a discussion thread for the "Untethered Jailbreak For iOS 4.3.4 is Unlikely" story posted on the front page.
I was already assuming this... Why jailbreak 4.3.4 if 5.0 is right around the corner? The 4.3.4 update that fixes a serious PDF exploit is also available in Cydia too, so there is no reason to update from 4.3.3
If only Apple added some kind of new feature in iOS 4.3.4, then it would have made it more worth of an update besides just patching the PDF exploit and whatnot.
I think the significant thing here is that, if Apple didn't patch what i0n1c is describing, that an untethered jailbreak COULD have been released for iOS 4.3.4 because it wouldn't be wasting a new vulnerability that Apple wasn't aware of... now this just pretty well 100% confirms that we won't see another untethered jailbreak until iOS 5.
Still trying to win an already lost battle are we, Apple? Android users are going nuts because companies are starting to allow unlocked bootloaders... Whereas us iOS kids are still stuck in a wait line for the next jailbreak...
I would have to agree with this, there is no point in updating to 4.3.4... just get PDF Patcher 2 from Cydia.
