Hi I have just purchased an i phone (2nd hand) 2g 8gb i phone, I have 2 jailbroken i pod touch (my Daughters) running 2.2f so I know how to jailbreak ok with the touch on windows quickpwn.
Now then what I would like to know when the i phone runs through quickpwn and I choose Cydia will this also unlock the i phone, or will I have to use boot neuter in Cydia afterwards?
I don't know if the i phone has been activated, so more information needed on that, what can I do if it has not been?
The original sim is not included in the sale, I have just read if it needs activation on i tunes you can run it through quickpwn without choosing any options but at the moment I'm not sure what to do.
Any more information would be greatly appreciated and I know Dashwood will come to the rescue as he has done for me on a couple of previous occassions.
    Thank you very much.

Well, you will need a sim card. Once you have a sim card you would choose to unlock your iPhone in quickpwn. This will automatically install bootnueter. You will also need the bootloaders. A quick google search will help you there. Most guides on the net have links to them.

Most important, DO NOT DISTURB YOUR PHONE DURING THE NUETER PROCESS.

Ok thankyou for your response so let me get this clear:

Please can you help me and answer my questions so Im more clear.

    I have the 2G i PHONE NOT THE 3G

1a: I'm a windows user so do I use quickpwn for windows 2.2?

1b: Is it safe to install the 2.2 upgrade firmware from i tunes on a 2g i phone and use quickpwn?

2: Do I STILL need to download the Bootloaders?

3: If yes, I presume that quickpwn will ask for them during the process?

4: What do the bootloaders do, the 1s I have got are a power iso file?

I thought that it would be the same procedure as jailbreaking the i pod touch except ticking the unlock box. I honestly had no idea about the bootloaders so thankyou very much.

If any 1 can answer my questions above I will be confident enough to jailbreak and unlock the i phone.

    Thankyou very much.

1a. Yes, use QuickPwn for Windows.

1b. Yes, it is. The iPhone 3G is a different story though.

    2. I'm pretty sure QuickPwn does that by itself now.

    3. ^^^^

    4. It is needed to start up the Operating System, without it your screwed

Oh, and use BootNeuter to unlock, you can check it off when using QuickPwn.

Well thankyou for your help, yes I read some where that quickpwn 2.2 does not require the bootloaders anymore.
