Unsupported OS on iPod Touch 1G

    Howdy.
    I was just wondering, what will happen to the first generation touches? Will they be running on minor updates? I wouldn't know since I haven't brought it out in a while.

    They've ported 4.0 here.

    It aint really 4.0, all it is the firmware 3.1.3 in a custom rom that has some jailbroken apps that imitate the 4.0 features

    Because the 1st and 2nd gen devices are so similar in hardware specs I suspect it shouldnt be too hard to actually port the firmware to 1st gen devices

    As for the question that kennystar72 is asking, I doubt apple will release an update for 3.1.x firmware

    They might push one small update to fix some bugs like they did with 1.1.5 but that's about it.
