I've heard that the home button on the 1G is badly designed and usually breaks, but I have a 2G and the button is extremely unresponsive.

I've only had the Touch for 2 weeks and it's already screwed up somehow. I've tried a restore and the problem's still there. I have to press pretty hard for it to work and if I press it to either side, it also works sometimes.

So I'm wondering. If I go to the Apple store and talk to them about the problem, what's the probability that I'll get a new one instead of a refurbished? Because IMO, after owning it for only two weeks, I should be subjected to a new one.

I've had mine for coming on a year now (as of tomorrow!) and it works fine (knock on wood)

They probably don't have that many refurbished yet, you'll probably get a new one.

Did anyone actually go through this process? What did you get in return?
