    So, define tablets as iPads? No other tablet is "jailbroken," they're just rooted. Those DMCA folks seem a bit lazy.

    It was always illegal to jailbreak tablets. The DCMA only mentioned smartphones.

    Yes, but now the Librarian of Congress has made it clear that the smartphone exemption doesn't apply to tablets.

    It is ridiculous the government is corrupt. But we cannot discuss politics here so I'll stop there. Does this mean IMEI unlocks will be dead?

    Wait, but for example, isn't the Verizon iPhone 5 required to be unlocked? And aren't all future ones supposed to be unlocked? Semi-loophole?
