    Hey everyone,
Im thinking about jailbreaking my ipod touch 2g. Just so i know, if i un-jailbreak it by restoring it to 2.2.1 in itunes and do an update sometime in the future, will it brick it? If it will, would i be able to restore to the updated .ipsw file?

    Thanks.

First of all you need to provide more information, update what the itunes or the touch. There is no upcoming updates that we are aware with from 2.2.1, though when it does come, they will probably be a defin update to jailbreak that as well.

Im worried because i jailbroke my other ipod touch 2g and it got 'bricked' after unjailbreaking and an update. Can anyone explain that? From what im getting is that that shouldn't happen again. Im going to jailbreak with redsn0w.

It didn't get bricked, all you would have to do is DFU mode and restore to a clean 2.2.1 firmware.

I did DFU mode. It was fine after a restore but after i updated it, it showed the usb plug and the itunes icon. Trying to restore it, it would say: error 6, or 5, or 14, 15, ect. Luckily, apple replaced it. Know anything about that?

    Thanks for your help!

You could have tried a different USB port, a different Computer, or restarted your computer. You probably could have solved it using this page.

I used that page and none of that worked. Plus three other computers.
So before i jailbreak, unjailbreaking and updating will not screw up my ipod? Im going to use redsn0w if that makes a difference.

Once again, thanks for all your help. You've helped me out a lot.
