    You can just upgrade regularly.

    No need to restore.

If you really want to though, click the giant restore button in iTunes.

i have read everywhere that you cant upgrade on a jailbroken ipod you need to unjailbreak first

I don't think it matters at all, as long as you've bought the 3.0 (which wasn't worth $10 IMO)

    Untrue.

I've done an upgrade from a jailbroken 2.2.1 to 3.0 without any problems.

    Don't listen to the
people above you. You must put your iPod in dfu mode then restore to 3.0. You need the latest iTunes also. If you just hit upgrade, you will be unjailbroken on 3.0 but you will have 500mb of data just sitting in there that you can't remove unless you ssh into it and manually remove each file from the previous jailbreak. Dfu and restoring wipes out
unneeded data from the previous jailbreak.

Also the people might not have any problems, but they have 500mb or so of useless data.

It's not hard to delete the excess data.

It's a copy of your Applications folder, and a few others all in one neat folder.
