Today when I was uploading some music into my ipt, the usb cable plug started to heat. After disconnecting I noticed the plug had burned near the one pin. Now it can't connect to PC or even charge the battery, I tried different cables.

Is there any way to unjailbreak without restoring the device so I can send it to repair? I can access the device with SSH.
    I jailbroken with Spirit.

Uninstall all jb apps and then Cydia.

EDIT: It will still be jailbroken, but Cydia and jb apps would be removed.

If his dock port is fried, another cable won't help!
DFU is easy to get out of, you'll have to corrupt a bunch of system files to force into restore mode. Get ahold of a copy of ifile or ssh to it and delete the system folder... It won't boot back up, then they'll HAVE TO restore it after it is fixed!
