    I want to unjailbreak my 8gb itouch but when I try to it says unknown error(1604). How do I unjailbreak it without using itunes? I put it in DFU mode and tried to restore but it still will not work. The reason i want to unjailbreak it is because it will not show up on itunes unless it is in recovery mode

    You arent getting it into DFU mode properly. If you can't do it yourself then use the advanced options on Ziphone and place it in DFU mode.

    The following error codes are likely because there is a problem with restoring. If you have a problem, first see the Apple Support Document on Restoring.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305797

    Then see Apple's Errors 2, 6, 9, -18, -48, -50, 1002, 1011, 1601, 1602, 1603, 1604, 1608, 1609, 1611, 2003, 2004, -9808

    This one worked for me
    Remove and reinstall iTunes and Apple Mobile Device Support

    Completely remove iTunes and Apple Mobile Device support and then reinstall iTunes 7.6.1 or later. Click the appropriate link below for instructions on how to accomplish this for your operating system.

    * Windows XP
    * Windows Vista
    * Mac OS X

    Well... you could do it manually... basically, you uninstall everything you can, delete all traces of BSD Subsystem, non-Apple preferences and application files in Media and Library and anything else that has blatantly been added by a jailbreak application, delete symlinks (the command is unlink PATH_OF_SYMLINK) and copy everything back to its original place, put in a correct version of fstab in /etc (you'd have to ask a dev what the correct version would be), then finally uninstall SSH and Installer and the Installer directory in /var/mobile/Library/, then reboot the phone.

    ... but it'd be much easier to restore.

    or it'll be much easyier to leave the iPod Touch JailBroken as it is, its better anyway, i suggest to just leave it alone

    This is like the easiest fix in the book! Don't do all that nonsense!
