Intersting. Is the license forever? Or is it for like a year and then they'll butt you with their fees and such?

I think it's forever, I activated mine and it didn't say anything about reactivating any time soon.

THANKS IFANS!!! :D I registered a license! I'm learning Java right now, and the next semester I have C#, so I hope that soon I will be using this!

    I noticed this a while ago on Dealnews.com :p
So I installed it for Windows, and it looks like I can build an entire app right there...but if I install it on a Mac, will I be able to write a whole app, compile it, and test it out on my iPod, without even using any App Store or Xcode stuff? I'm just curious as to how the "development" to "playing the game" process goes, and whether it can be done without Apple's submissions/registration/developer accounts and such.

No, for iOS it says you still need the Apple SDK, otherwise you pretty much can't publish it. However it does say that you can download the 'Unity Remote' free app in the app store to test your games/programs/apps.
I'll quote from the PDF you get in the e-mail:
Makes me wish I had $99 to spare...

I see...oh well, good enough until (if) I get a developer license.

I tested the demo game that came with it; makes me want to start learning! :)
