So, I've had my touch jailbroken for a month. No worries with it. Yesterday, my power button wasn't working so I thought maybe it was Jailbreak related. I completely turned off my Touch (so it won't turn on again until I run some Booting probram), but now I can't get my Touch into DFU mode... I've done it before so I'm doing it correctly, but maybe it's a hardware issue and my power button is just messed up?

Any advice. This is pretty scary.

Just keep trying with exact timing. 10 seconds with both buttons down, then release power and hold home for 8 seconds. Use the windows clock.

Thats the only thing I can think of, and doing it exact works for most people.

Is there a way to put it into DFU mode without using the power button? Anything GUI based?

    Using buttons still isn't working.

No. The only way into DFU mode is through button presses.

If you are absolutely sure your Power/Sleep button is broken, then yes, you are screwed.

Unless you have dropped your iPod multiple times, I doubt your Power/Sleep button could be broken. I would keep trying different timing for DFU.

I've never dropped it. That's the weird thing. I've been trying DFU mode for like two hours now.

Then it's human error, not broken hardware. Just hold down Power+Home for 10 regular seconds, then let go of Power and count 7 regular seconds.

    Push it down like hard.
