Ok i have this unique probelm regarding applications and it started when i upgraded to 2.2 and formatted my Pc before that.

Basically i upgraded to 2.1, jailborken it and put loads of apps on it. It worked Gr8 no problem.

Then i reformatted my pc and reinstalled itunes, then upgraded to 2.2 and then finally yesterday jail broken 2.2

But now no new apps will work on my ipod touch. It says, "Chess1.1.ipa" could not be verified.

It says it to all the apps that are not on my ipod touch.

The apps that are on my ipod touch, they work fine. I can resync them but the ones that arent. i cant... : (

Get the apps again from your source. I think they get changed in some minute way that your touch is treated as a "new" ipod and the old apps are verified to your "old" ipod. They will all work again after that.

same problem, except I'm on a Mac. '06 MacBook Pro, iTunes 8.0.2, went from jailbroken iphone 2.1 to 2.2, used custom ispw created by pwnage tool, option clicked restore in iTunes, now works fine (cydia, installer, etc) but 3rd party apps won't load, says they are not "valid"

Tried reverting to iTunes 8.0.1 but same problem occurred

tried suggestion above but that did not work either

    ???

problem was solved by loading a replacement file into the ipod/iphone directly, see instructions here:
