THIS MAY NOT BRING BACK MUSIC- AT LEAST IT FIXED MY IPOD MAN
Today i tried jailbreaking- i got a black screen. stuck in the DFU mode or whatever its called. I cryed and screamed but nothing could help it.
People say to help this you hold sleep and home for 15 seconds, then just home for 8.... comeplete bull plop.. BULL PLOP I TELLS YA!
I was fiddling around as i tend to do( which is why i f***ed my ipod over) and i deided to hold the buttons for random times.... oh f***.. ohh yesss. OH MAN YESSS. i got a white screen- its a change...
Im pretty sure i held both for 15 seconds and then home for about 15 seconds-20... i hope this works for some yokals out there =D

FOR THIS IM PRETTY SURE U NEED libusb-win32-filter-bin-0.1.12.1 for this:

Well i was rummaging thru my downloaded files when ic ame across an iboot file.... Made to start up ur ipod=] i tried opening it and read thru it.. i said to myself... naww this isnt gonna help- until i saw the last line it said - is your ipod touch running in DFU mode. omg... a hope? a shine??? yessss! all this syntax command prompt stuff... then it opens itunes- my itunes picked up my ipod for the first time in 10 hours!!! omfg... yesss god yessss!!! I clicked restore(do not do shift click and all that sh*t) just download it again PLEASE!
MY IPOD SHOWED AN APPLE SIGN>..... A f***ING APPLE SIGN. OMG THE JOY IT BRINGS TO PEOPLE THAT AN IPOD MAY BE FIXED!!!!!!!
After that it started installing things up the top of itunes such as apps.... Thats all im up to for now

In case it doesnt have the libusb-win32-filter-bin-0.1.12.1 i am trying to find a link.. otherwise it should come with irecovery =D

IM NOT SURE IF SOMEONE ELSE HAS DISCOVERED THIS- I DID BY ACCIDENT.
I would like to take credit for all that this helps- but i share it with whoever steals it from me....=D

congrats, although its been posted about 10 times, as to jail break your ipod has to go into dfu mode, and for awhile appears completely dead, just for reference you hold the home and power button together for exactly 10secs (look at a clock while doing for accuracy as this helped me a lot) and then release the power button and hold the home button for another 8seconds (itunes will usually make a noise at the end of 8secs) and yes you need libusb for your computer to read the ipod correctly.

Also note that you should uninstall libusb after using and reinstall only if you need to reboot, as on many computers (and my laptop) it causing the computer to freeze while shutting down

Did you not have the music backed up on your computer and stuff?

And also, do you guys predict this guy is going to get banned in the next 24 hours?

this fails. You say that someone told you to hold the buttons for 15 seconds. That is wrong.

Its 10 seconds, then 7 seconds. Thats probably why it woudlnt go into DFU.
