I just upgraded my ipod touch to 2.0.1 and reinstalled openssh again, but now i cant seem to ssh to my ipod anymore. when i use the terminal it gives me a really long error message and at the end it says "host key verification failed". When I try to SSH via Transmit (which i've always been doing all along) it tells me "permission denied". Im using username root and pw alpine. Im quite sure I didnt change the password in the past and besides, i just recovered it to the 2.0.1 custom firmware.

    Any ideas anyone?

    1. Uninstall OpenSSH
    2. Reboot (completely turn off)
    3. Install OpenSSH
    4. Reboot (completely turn off)
    5. Delete any 'stored sessions'
    6. Type in your IP address in again, username and password.

    Should work.
If not, then i don't know lol. Good luck.

That is a normal error but I only know how to fix it on Linux. For that I delete the $HOME/.ssh/known_hosts file. I don't know where it is on Windows or OSX (although I guess it is the same as Linux) but you can look around for it.

the error message does tell me

Add correct host key in /Users/Home/.ssh/known_hosts to get rid of this message.
    Offending key in /Users/Home/.ssh/known_hosts:3

but I cant find any folder called ".ssh"

anything that starts with a . is hidden, you should be able to find a way to view them or start whatever command line terminal OSX has and run this command

    rm /Users/Home/.ssh/known_hosts
