I forgot my iPod backup password.

And I need to restore because my iPod is only showing the Apple logo at the moment.

    Can anyone help me?

Just DFU + restore. That will fix the boot problem.
You won't be able to get back any data though. Think twice before password protecting backups.

i recommend that you never put a password on your backups. whats the point? unless you have something no one else should see.....

u can fix it with a nor-restore, that will make your ipod work again, but u wont lose all your data.
to do it, download quickfreedom, then click change boot logo. (dont actually change any settings at all) then click make custom firmware. put ur ipod in dfu, then shift restore to your custom firmware and then your ipod will work and u can back it up again (WITHOUT A PASSWORD)

Quickfreedom is for 2.2.X. Use Pwnage for 3.0 custom IPSWs.

    I have to DFU restore.
But when restoring for Backup, iTunes asks for my backup password, I entered in the password I assumed it was, and it said it was incorrect.

I need my backup, I've got way too much contacts, hundreds of them.
I can't remember them all from the top of my head. Most of them are for my latest projects.

I've tried Pwnage and QuickPwn, still doesn't work.

I have to encrypt my backup, it's so that people who use this computer don't backup to my one.
